My prayer today is taken from John 4:24: God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth
Worshipping in Spirit = Heartfelt, sincere worship which is aided by the promptings of the Holy Spirit to make effective the work of Christ.
Worshipping in Truth = Worship that is in accordance with Holy Scripture and worship that Jesus himself would approve of and practise.
The worship of God should be taken seriously. We need our prayer to be that God will move us in such a way that our worship is renewed each day. We need to ask God to fill us, mould us, and even break us if we are to truly worship Him with all of our heart.
It’s a big call, but God provides the strength for us to do this. Christ sacrificed himself for us. There is nothing we can do to be saved, but we can show our thanks by offering a Sacrifice of Praise today.
