The future’s bright…

No – It’s not Orange! (You’ll only get that joke if you live in the UK ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about the future. Recent events have steered me away from the things I thought I was going to achieve and plan to do, and now I’m facing the unknown. Because I’m such an organised person who likes to have a five year plan, this has been very daunting for me. I hate not knowing what’s around the corner.

I have concluded that I sometimes have trust issues. That is, trust issues with God. However, just surfing the web today, I found a quote by William Carey…

“The future is as bright as the promises of God.”

I like this quote very much. I don’t think it means that the future is going to be fine all the way… but what it is saying is that God has never ever broken a promise. And knowing the promises that God makes in the Bible… that’s pretty amazing.

So, the future’s bright… the future’s God’s promises!

  • Liked what you said about not liking what’s around the corner, wisdom always lets us know – so great is His grace

Good post, (just a side note – I think we have a common friend in Gavin Owen – he tells me you and him have had some good conversations in the past)

    Hey Ian,

Thanks for the comment. Very true about Grace!

And yes, I’ve known Gavin for about a year now. Hopefully those conversations will continue!

When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory He sheds on our way. While we do His good will He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. The LORD is my shepherd i shall not want HE makes me to lie down in green pastures HE leads me in the paths of righteousness for HIS OWN NAME SAKE. OUR GOD IS THE GOD WHO CANNOT LIE. GOD BLESS YOU DEAN.
