Truth Proclaimed by Mumford & Sons

In church tonight, we sang the chorus of a song by Mumford & Sons. The song is called “Awake My Soul”.

You probably know of it…

The thing is that the words of the title alone echo a plea in the Bible where people want to know what truth is, they want God to break through. They are seeking God’s heart.

The reason why we sang the chorus of this song as part of our worship in church is because of these words:

Awake my soul, awake my soul, Awake my soul: For you were made to meet your maker

They are so right. We are made to meet our Maker. Our Maker wants to be in relationship and friendship with us.

My thought to you is that if you really are made to meet your Maker, don’t you think that it’s time to meet him if you haven’t already?
