If my people…

I went to prayer at church this morning. We were thinking about Pentecost (cos it’s coming up this Sunday) and were just thinking about what it would be like if God moved in a miraculous way.

Wales is known as the land of revival. We’ve had 23 of them. And we long for a 24th, if we’re Christians. The thing is that revival starts with those who have already been ‘saved’.  Revival of ourselves. A constant attitude of prayer. Constantly seeking to be Christ like.

This is why it says in 2 Chronicles 7:

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

We all too often forget that this verse is in scripture. There’s no point just talking about revival, and praying for revival if we’re failing to realise that revival starts with us, and that God want’s US to be in a right attitude and mindset for revival. If we’re not, how are we going to minister to thousands of new Christians?
