Development and Change

It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad. – C. S. Lewis

Yesterday, I started university for the final time. Yes, I’m a third year student now! But I remember on Monday night that I was feeling somewhat misplaced, confused, worried. It’s the final leg of the three year marathon. What happens after the final leg has been run?

Tuesday came and lectures went well. In fact, I met some lovely new people and I wasn’t too put off by the content of the lectures!

To change and develop is something that we simply must do. I think that’s what I was scared of on Monday night; changing and developing. But why the need to be scared? If one is developing and changing for the good, then that cannot be a bad thing! Especially if it means developing and deepening my faith in theology lectures…
