I’ve just come back from Momentum – a Christian festival for 20 and 30 somethings and part of the New Wine/Soul Survivor family. I’ve been majorly challenged, moulded, broken and changed this last week as I’ve served on team but also received from the Lord. One thing that I have learnt over the years is that the Christian mission is to give what has been received. Practical advice on ‘Post Christian Festival Blues’ will be given tomorrow, but a verse from Psalm 43 is what I’ve been meditating on today. Psalm 43:3 says
Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.
God is a God who sends out. He sends out Light and Truth. It naturally follows, then, that we should be followers of Jesus who also send out, look out, and give out. Being filled at a Christian festival means taking on the responsibility of giving it away.
