God or something else?

I’ve been doing the Bible in One Year since September 1st and today I read from Matthew 4. What was particularly striking to me was verses 8 to 10 of that chapter:

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

These few verses showed to me the daily choice we have to make in our lives, to worship God or something else. And not only that, but to 100% surrender to God or something else. There can be no split loyalties. It’s all or nothing in the Kingdom of Heaven. Serve him only.

With that in mind, I’ve been thinking about how I can make sure I’m serving God exclusively in my life. Hard task, but possible through the Spirit.
