It’s been quite a while since I last posted. I tried numerous times to re start the blog and get posting regularly, but it just wasn’t happened. I’ve come to realise that God was doing something that was preventing me from being inspired to write; He was focussing my attention on other things, namely my calling to the Priesthood. I have been exploring that calling pretty much since the start of DeanRoberts.Net, and it’s been a long journey.
However, on Thursday 17th July at 2pm whilst I was on holiday in Tenby, West Wales, I had a phone call from the Bishop of Monmouth after having been to a provincial discernment panel (or Bishop’s Advisory Panel) to say that I have been recommended for training to be ordained. I can’t tell you how thrilled, excited, and relieved I am. It’s been such an amazing feeling to know that these few years of discernment have led me to this place and that the Church formally recognises my calling. Here’s what I had to say on Facebook about it:
Having had this wonderful news, I realised that God wanted to pause my blogging for a time whilst I engaged with Him through prayer and discussion with others about this thing called “Priesthood” which is going to change my life forever. But now, I’m raring to go back to blogging for this new era of my life which is about to start, and I don’t want to be selfish and keep it to myself!
Therefore, the blog has had a facelift (I hope you like it?), and I shall resume blogging from now. I will be blogging on all the subjects that I’ve been blogging about in the past and reviewing books that I’ve read, but now I will also be blogging about my continued journey towards Priesthood detailing my thoughts and experiences. My next post will be about my Selection Conference, AKA Provincial Selection Panel, AKA Bishop’s Advisory Panel, AKA BAP (I know… Anglicans love terminology). I’m hoping that this will be useful for anyone else who will be going on this journey in the future.
I’m very much looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you again, and discussing all the things of life with you. I hope you’re all well, and very excited to be catching up with you!
Signing off for now; look out for my next blog post which hopefully will be appearing within the next few days.
With my love and prayers,
PS – If you’ve read this, then please do send me a comment below to say hello! Would be a great encouragement to me! Tar!
