This page aims to give readers a disclaimer about the blog. It aims to provide readers with the purpose of the blog, and what I as the blogger aims to achieve with the blog (at the moment).

Who am I?

First and foremost, I am a Christian. By Christian I mean that I believe that Jesus died for me, that I would be lost without him, and because of his sacrificial death on the cross for me, I’m right with God and I’m going to enjoy eternity in heaven with him. As a result of that, I’m sold out to worshipping him and serving him, which predominantly means trying to live my life to how he would want me to live it and to obey the command of Christ to share this good news with others.

I’m also a Theology Student in University. This blog will therefore be influenced by things that I’m learning, opinions of mine that are changing, and a journey of faith and exploration. It will also seek to set up a debate and discussion for people of all backgrounds and faiths.

I’m also applying to become an ordinand in the Anglican Church. This means that you will often read of my personal joys and enlightenments, as well as devotional type posts that I’ve been thinking about. You’ll also hear of my struggles.

If you want to have a more complete picture of who I am, then you can find out more about me and what I’m up to by clicking here.

Why am I telling you this?

The reason why I’m telling you this is because I want you to take some things I say with a pinch of salt. And I really mean that. I’ve been called and described as many things whilst blogging since January 2011. They range from being a ‘bigot’ to ‘inspirational’. They’re quite opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of descriptive words about a person, aren’t they?

It may be hard at times to decipher when I’m being ‘me’ and when I’m being Devil’s Advocate. Please don’t be alarmed. There are clues. For example, if a post is categorised under ‘Personal’ or ‘Devotional‘, then I’m most probably being myself.

If a post is categorised under ‘Current Affairs‘ then I’m most likely trying to be controversial and often playing Devil’s Advocate.

If the post is categorised under ‘Theology‘ or something similar, then the contents of that post will usually be a mix of me being ‘me’ and me being ‘devil’s advocate’, if you see what I mean.

Please don’t assume. I understand that it’s easy to do on the blog. And I want you to consider that I have personally decided to be this way on the blog in order to provide open forum, discussion and an opportunity to explore together the things of God and everything and anything to do with Christianity.

If a post offends you, and you think I may be a bigot, please pause for a second. It’s good to be offended, you know. Yet I must tell you that it is completely unacceptable to call someone a bigot. Everyone in the world is a bigot at times, so please remember that.

If you really want to know my view on something, then contact me about it. I’d love to tell you what I’m currently thinking. But as I’ve said, I’m on a journey of faith. I’m a Christian trying to draw close to God and trying to understand his word. So that means that if you ask me the same question in a year, maybe in a few months later, my opinion may have changed, depending on what sort of theology you’re talking about. Saying that, I already have beliefs and opinions that will never change, I have convictions (and they come with valid reasons, might I add), I have opinions which are able to change, if you can persuade me. And there are certain things which I don’t have an opinion on.

So, I hope that clears up a lot. I do resent being called a bigot. And I’m a lot more open than some of you may think. I’m just a theology student trying to understand God and how he wants me to live, and how he wants the world to be. That’s a tough thing to try and work out, so there’s obviously gonna be things I get right, and a lot that I get wrong. It will be the same with you too…
