Book Review: Knowing Jesus by James Alison @SPCKPublishing
Today brings another book review, this time Knowing Jesus by James Alison. Interesting book! I was especially interested because of a few reasons which I mention in the full review, which you can find by clicking on this link!
Book Review: Heaven is for Real! by Todd Burpo @JoiningDotsDist
OK, so another book review is hot off the press! This one, Heaven is for Real was a brilliant read. It’s not particularly theological or academic, but rather is a penned down account of a personal journey of faith within a family. It is the account of Colton Burpo’s trip to heaven and back as he underwent surgery. Whatever you think of these claims, I would recommend you have a read. I can’t give answers and conclusions to these sorts of experiences, but I did find this account fascinating. If you’re a ‘faith seeker’ or wondering what all the God stuff is about, you may be interested in this book especially, but I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Not for gain of knowledge, but just as an enjoyable read. However, it does make you think. Read my review of it here.
There’s also a video which you can have a watch of: Read more
Time for a holiday.
This picture is of the Gower; and this is where Megan and I are going for a few days as a little holiday! With Megan being an Adult Nurse, and with me coming to the end of my degree after hours and hours of stress. essay writing and confusion as well as holding down my part time job at church and various other things, we thought it would be nice to go on a little holiday, so that we can take a step back.
The reason the blog has gone quiet again is because Read more
Book Review: Living your Confirmation by Pete Maidment & Paul Butler @SPCKPublishing
Behold! I bring you a new book review. This time it is Living your Confirmation by Pete Maidment and Paul Butler. I actually love reading books and reviewing them. And I’ve enjoyed reviewing and reading this one in particular, as you’ll see if you click the link that will take you to the review!
Book Review: Sister Wendy’s Bible Treasury @SPCKPublishing
Quite a different sort of book that I’m reviewing today, but I’m posting to draw your attention to Sister Wendy‘s new book; Bible Treasury. It’s packed full of information about Biblical art and is quite a good read – definitely not taxing, and thoroughly enjoyable. Even though I’m not an artist, I was able to appreciate all the various works that are included in this book. Have a read of the full review by clicking here.
CD Review: Everlasting – Meet The Maker @JoiningDotsDist
So, I’ve been asked by Joining the Dots Distribution if I could start reviewing some books, CDs and other things for them. You may know that I already review books for SPCK which I thoroughly enjoy, and there will be more of those reviews on the way soon. If you haven’t checked out my review of “The Voice” yet, distributed by Joining the Dots, then please click here to read the review.
But today, I am concerned with this CD given to me by Joining the Dots Distribution, titled Everlasting: Meet The Maker by ID Music, Calvary Church, a thriving church in Read more

Book Review: Justification – Five Views by James Beilby and Paul Eddy (Eds.) @SPCKPublishing
Yet another book review for you to feast your eyes upon! This book is a needed text for anyone studying theology. It’s not your classic bedtime reading, but is essential if you’re doing any work on the cross, justification by faith and what that means.
Have a read of the full review for more details by clicking here!
