OK, so another book review is hot off the press! This one, Heaven is for Real was a brilliant read. It’s not particularly theological or academic, but rather is a penned down account of a personal journey of faith within a family. It is the account of Colton Burpo’s trip to heaven and back as he underwent surgery. Whatever you think of these claims, I would recommend you have a read. I can’t give answers and conclusions to these sorts of experiences, but I did find this account fascinating. If you’re a ‘faith seeker’ or wondering what all the God stuff is about, you may be interested in this book especially, but I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Not for gain of knowledge, but just as an enjoyable read. However, it does make you think. Read my review of it here.

Quite a different sort of book that I’m reviewing today, but I’m posting to draw your attention to Sister Wendy‘s new book; Bible Treasury. It’s packed full of information about Biblical art and is quite a good read – definitely not taxing, and thoroughly enjoyable. Very well written, excellent research done and highly recommended. It presents a lot of ‘alternative’ views to ones which you may or may not hold, which is never bad for someone wanting to get to know God deeper!

I’ve just finished reading this book, and I have to say that it’s flippin’ interesting to say the least, and I feel enriched theologically for taking the time to study it. One of my modules in theology also deals with emerging theology, which includes that of Asian Theology so it added to the interest! Read more
